Unbelievable, what a great experience! It always amazes me how people who know about these things (this especially applies to those in so-called responsible postions) still find a way of justifying themselves to be part of such a controlling cult.

WTS Secret Police
by Pleasuredome inheres a story of what happened to me at a district convention this year.. an unbaptised publisher and i travelled to wolverhampton district convention in england.
this wasnt our district but id been on holiday and had missed my own district convention (how unspiritual of me).
so me and this friend decided to go to this convention and was also hoping to meet a friend there.. on the saturday morning we were delayed in traffic and we eventually arrived at 11.30am, paid our 3 for parking (i wonder if they had the use of car parks for free?

RR, I admit - still a lot to learn and research - it's just finding the time to do it. I think I'll keep my mouth shut in future until I find the time to do it properly! At first there's just so much to take in it's easy to get mixed up with it all - passed that stage now; I'm glad to say.
To be honest I think my careers more important than this mind boggling religion! Hope I can find the time from somewhere though, cos it's facinating research.

I successfully deprogrammed myself I'm happy to say. Once you've done it, it is as if you have a new pair of eyes that you can look through from a totally objectional view point. You suddenly understand JW behavior and why they are the way they are - some worse than others but everyone is affected, usually those who unconciously don't believe it, in a very negative way, cos it turns them (for the worst) into people they wouldn't have been if it wasn't for the watchtower shoveling their minds with such crap!
The problems I suffer with now are not religion based but WTS induced like our family being divided and phycological problems that a lot of ex JW's face like confidence and applying yourself more. I believe in honesty with yourself. If you are afraid of anything about yourself or your beliefs then you can't afford to be honest with yourself cos this would just make your mind very uncomfortable. It's easier not to think but you will never know who you really are and what you can become.
Hoffer really helped me see things more clearly. Most of what I've read by Hoffer is spot on, if you take it with the right attitude - that he isn't preaching, he's just thinking.

the matrix is a false reality; the people within it are duped into believing it to be the "truth.

Once you know it's an illusion the illusion is shattered. That's why I think they would have to erase your memory of ever escaping in order for you to be reintegrated back in to the Matrix if you ever excaped.

Racism, an ugly breed!

its the first time ive ever been out with a whole group of asians and myself, this may sound to some a bit of a racist comment to some but its nothing compared to what ive experienced tonight.
i couldnt believed the amount of raciest abuse that some of my friends came across and the way that they justified their reasoning with it to make them feel better.

To be honest it just disgusted me beyond belief what they have to deal with day in day out. The fact is some people are really nice and some people are just the total opposite!
I learned a lot tonight, I have never been treat so well by anyone I know. I asked what his beliefs were and he said to just be yourself and see the importance you can have towards other people and how you make others feel around you. This was the best advice I’ve had in a long time and is the kind of attitude that was expressed towards me that I will never forget, he was so genuine and kind with no motive other than than he liked me and respected me in a way that I have never been shown!

Hi RR,
To my knowledge, C.T. Russell never claimed to "represent God" at least not in the way the Watchtower claims today.
Most of the idea's that the witnesses protray as what the bible says are crazy. I'm still mixing up the two when I shouldn't be sometimes - Russell and JW's (This is hard due to what I've been taught by the JW's). I heard somewhere that he claimed to be under the direction of angels or they had the job of directing his work,(same thing in my opinion) because of some 'prophecy' or other about when Jesus started his rule, can't remember exactly, I'll look it up and let you know.
Sorry, I haven't had much time to post recentley but I will definately get back to you, I'm very busy 'catching up' at the end of my college year and have to finish a lot of music. Also, I'll have to get hold of some of the writings of russell so I can double check a lot of stuff and get a truer opinion of the man.

two jehovah's witness elders who fleeced a 100-year-old deer lodge woman out of her life savings and family ranch were sentenced to 25 years in prison with 10 suspended.
this is not the first time that a jehovahs witness elder was sentenced for fraud.
